Dido & Aeneas
For one evening The Cowshed at Shatwell Farm, designed by Stephen Taylor, was transformed to host Henry Purcell’s Dido & Aeneas. An evening that fused architecture, drawing, music and feasting.
The opera was conducted by Matthew Owens (former director of music at Wells Cathedral) and featured staging by architect Sam Jacob and scenography by Matthew Day Jackson (artist in residence at Hauser & Wirth Somerset). The performance was presented in conjunction with Drawing Matter, Hauser & Wirth Somerset and The Architecture Foundation.
